Our History

In 1933, we formed a Cooperative with the goal of keeping resources in our local community during the Depression. In its origin, the Co-op included Range L.P. Gas and the Range Funeral Home, as well as a sausage plant, car dealership, creamery, chapel, and more.

RANGE CO-OP TODAY

Local investment continues to be one of our highest priorities at Range Co-op. We donate to a variety of community events, especially in support of education. We provide college scholarships to local students in partnership with the Virginia Co-op Credit Union. It’s rewarding to support local community members and give back to our hometowns!  We are proudly staffed by a team of “familiar faces,” all from the Iron Range area. Current Range Cooperative businesses include Range L.P. Gas, Blomberg Oil, several Cenex stores, and Range Funeral Home.
